Oh, I'm so very sorry to hear this. MAYBE they they just wandered off and will return? A friend picked up some 10 week old chicks a few weeks back, and she picked up 2 for me along with hers. She was taking pictures of them (her son was holding each, she was taking pics) and one got away - son tried so very hard to hang on, but it got away anyhow (they hadn't been handled at all and were quite skittish), but it did come back the next day! Here's hoping for the same end result with yours!!

Edited to add that I too hope very much that they'll show up.

Being so young they may not know the way so may have wandered - I'm sure you are scouring the area thoroughly.

Dang, hate to hear that. My ten chicks are out in the front yard with my corgi guarding them; think I'll go check on them now.
