I went out to feed and water tonight and I am missing 4 of my 7 little chicks that hatched a few weeks ago with my Broody hen. And 2 of the 4 were my favorite ones. I have been crying all night long. I cannot figure out where they went. The only thing I can figure is that they somehow got out of the run and cats got them, or they wandered off. I am so, so sad!!!! Here are some pictures of my 2 favorite ones that are gone.

I am so sorry for the loss of your 4 chicks. There is still hope that you find them. Best luck. They sure are cuties. Sending finding vibes your way.

I totally understand. Of my original 6 banties, only one lived and he being a rooster had to go, then I tried to hatch, and only got one and it died as well. It's tough. I am so sorry for your loss.

Aww! I am so sorry to hear that, we lost one of my favorites sometime overnight, I found it in the cage this morning deceased. He was the cutest of the non-pet chicks we have. I was told he was a cross between a RIR rooster and a Jersey BG hen, but he was way smaller then the other babies so either the lady was wrong about what he was or he was a runt. What stinks is that he was a replacement for one of the original 4 chicks we bought that had died. now we only have 3 original chicks we bought and then my special pet Frizzle chick, which I am overly happy about the fact that he's 3 weeks old and past the most critical age. He's in my signature and also on my avatar

I am sorry for your loss, maybe they are just out hunting, they probably saw a worm on the other side of the run and one of them got out to get the worm and the mother hen said to go out and search for more, because the rooster wasn't providing... so the other 3 volunteered to join this search party!

You never know, they could be going on a mission, don't feel to bad. by reading your post I would say they have and excellent mother/owner/ext.

They may come back you never know!!!
