Our black shoulder hen has a sinus infection, again. I am going to do the surgery with may dad this weekend or next week during spring break. I will take pics and post updates.

Wait, how do you fix a sinus infection???

You either suck it out with a syringe if the pus is still a liquid or you cut it open. Last time we tried to suck it out but ended up cutting it out. The thing we removed looked like a boiled egg yoke.

I hope my peas never get that...I would hate to have to cut it out! Doesn't dust or something cause it?

Dust can cause it. Yeah it is terrible because the hen hates me now. I dont know what has caused her to get the infection.

wear rubber gloves and a halloween mask when you are engaging in such unpleasantness. Maybe they wont associate you.

The problem is we already did this so she already hates us, she is the dumb one of the flock too so that does not help. When we enter the aviary she paces back a forth trying to fing a hole in the wire.

One of my roos snorted a large seed and got a horrible infection, it took some serious work to clean it out.
