Ok here we go again and again , I am tired of what I have decided to do but I need to stay fair and it has become difficult to distinguish what is fair and what is not .

The case : a hen that has been to the vet mutiple times because of the same old : constantly eggbound , each egg ( or almost each egg ) that finally passed seemed to be a double yolk , very large , massive to be honest , pointy eggs with a remarkable different weight compared to other eggs , now yesterday I came up the idea the investigate them more , not just by opening them up , no by candling and checking the shell out , the findings :
as mentioned double yolks , weight of three single eggs , has bloodsplashes on it and an extremely bizar thick shell too , guess you can play football with them , bathing her does not work , soaked her so long I really feared of taking her skin of , anyway , she has always been to the vet for this and I hate it , she hates it and so does my now very thin wallet ,
so this is one hen that I decided to take on as my own hen , but I can always choose from x other birds , yet the issue here is again , once u have chosen yours , you can get attached , which is not wished for but can happen , why is because she is such a brave and docile girl , she came here with almost zip in feathers and has gained weight , looks bright , follows me around and acts a bit like a dog , she and I meet eachother a lot and spend time a lot as I am outside constantly ( just got in about half an hour ago btw and started this morning already at six ) so she is attached to me and she is allowed to free range as she is mine while the other are in the run for their treatments , behaviorthings blabla but I am so tired of her not laying that egg and I refuse this time to go to the vet , now today it seems she has been hanging out somewhere whe was NOT suposed to be , she started following me around funny , now it seems her leg could be either broken or I dont know , I did not check her out entirely but she has difficulties standing up and walking , she eats , drinks , poops (duh why not ) so here we go : I am done , tired as in EXHAUSTED by this project and what to do with this chicken ? culling her ??? gosh I so do not WANNA do that but we have over the thousands of birds that DO have a GOOD chance , this one here has issues due breeding in production , also even a lot of them are chickens with crossbeaks , she is one of those , taping her leg in or not ? I don't know anymore , please help me out via a poll here

The ethics of animal husbandry dictates that sick, ailing, and hopeless cases of disease like you just enumerated requires the chicken keeper to cull birds such as the one you just described.
thank y 4 your honest answer . I am gonna have to go with the majority , and to be honest I fear this is indeed the best for all .. what a lovely rollercoaster urgh :)

culling her would be best. Genes should not be passed down, she should not continue to suffer, and your putting way to much into her than she is giving back. Your time could be spent helping others. Not worth it if you spend all your money on her in vet bills. she seems pretty nice i would give her one more chance(if the egg thing happens again) or wait a week or 2(for the leg thing) if she does not get better in the crock pot she goes.

It sounds to me like you would be doing you both a kindness to cull her and let her go on to that big pasture in the sky, where good chickens go. You tried Really hard, but it sounds like she's suffering and so are you. Have you asked the vet their opinion of her chances of recovering from this? Is this something she could get over? Is she young? The only thing I know about that is sometimes new layers have double yolks ..Good luck!
