I'm getting two Nigerian dwarf wethers in June. They will be my first goats so I am asking the same questions you have been. This thread has been very helpful! I think I will be going with electrified fence as we have coyote, bobcat, fishers, etc. I want to allow them to come and go from the shelter into the paddock area on their own. We will build the enclosure from wood pallets and would like an overhang to keep their feed and water. They were just born last week so I have a while before they come home. I'm VERY excited about it!
They are very cute!
So far between my two, I like my doe. She is not so...needy. My kids on the other hand love the little wether. He follows them around like a lost puppy. They have taken both of them for walks everyday.

Adorable goats!

I, too, started with goats this fall and have been going through the learning phase. Still am.

Started with two ND wethers, but one died suddenly after several months. Since I couldn't have a one goat, I picked up two mini Nubian does to be with him.

How did I live so long without goats?
