I am getting tired of this!

I'm sorry you lost your little girl. I feel your pain. A hawk killed my little call duckling yesterday. It hurts but we just move on and continue to give them all the love we can. Don't give up! Your flock needs you!

If you keep animals you bury animals. At one point or another since they don't have the lifespans humans do. We've had a pet cemetary area for as long as I've been alive to remember it. I feel sorry for anyone who digs up the garden at our old house.

I've reached the point when I have an animal die at the vets I tell them to dispose of it themselves. I've buried more than my share. You get used to getting over it or you stop keeping animals because you can't take it.

In the wild , , , animals would still die - - - we just wouldn't know it.

In our backyard - - - we share their good and bad times.

We get excited when we make them happy.
We worry when they are sick.
We cry when they die.

This is WHY we take care of animals - - - for the relationship.
This is WHY we do it over and over and over - - - the good days greatly outnumber the bad days.

Mourn your loss today and then tomorrow is another day.

I feel for you ...... i've been in chickens for over 55 years and it still hurts when i lose one .
Just this past week one of my special game broodies was killed and taken by a raccoon , she had hatched over half of my young spring birds in the past few week and i had my best BCMarans eggs under her and my only Lavender Ameraucana eggs under her .
It's hard for me to think about it ... it was a triple heartbreak and it does cause me to be so upset but i Love the chickens/birds and someway i'll have more hatched soon .

Best to You (anything i can do just let me know)

Sorry for your loss. I always feel bad about animals that pass before their time.

In the future, note any behavior that makes you think twice. That feeling you get that "something is wrong". You can intervene and perhaps save a life. It takes vigilance and dedication but well worth the time.

God Bless.
