I have a white and a barred rock, a gold-laced and a silver laced wyandotte, and a buff orpington that were hatched on June 2. That makes them 25.5 weeks old. They have not repaid all my treats and cooing with any eggs. I showed them. I bought a dozen and a half eggs today. Since I am now well stocked on eggs, I am expecting them to start up any day now.

Try holding them by the neck with your left hand. Now with your right, grasp tightly just under your left. Without lessening pressure, slide your right hand towards their tail. An egg should pop out.

My EE's and Black sex-links started laying the same day last week at 25 weeks - 2 days after I bought 2 dzn. eggs at the store. I think there was a conspiracy.

I feel your pain. I have two supposed Australorps (I'm not entirely convince they aren't Jersey Giants), who hatched beginning of June and aren't laying yet. Early maturing my patootie.

My chickens will be 25 weeks on Wednesday and only 3 of the 7 are laying.
I have 2 RIR (not laying), 3 Buff Orps (1 laying) and 2 white Leghorns (both laying). I just bought eggs, I'll let you know if this works for me LOL.
