I am happy and sad...

I just found one of my hens broody tonight! That made me happy! I candled the eggs because I was unsure on when she started sitting. I saw something in some of them, left them there. The others I brought in. I cracked open one..nothing, cracked open another..nothing, cracked open a 3rd and there was a tiny little network of veins and a heart beat

I am so sad that I did that! I took all the others I had brought in and put them back under her just in case..I DID NOT want to do that again!

Then tonight I did a head count and found that one of my EE's are missing! My only green egg layer

The broody has about 7 eggs, I can;t wait to see the babies!!!

Oh I hope she's safe and maybe setting on her eggs someplace, but you'll have to really look! They find some really concealed places when they decide on a place to nest! Let us know when she comes home!
