I am mad at all of you.......

I agree. I was fine with the 4 hens I started out with, till I started frequenting this website!!!! Now, I just want more and more and more. Got chicks in the spring, and have some coming in a couple of weeks!!!!

Ha, the incubator is the solution to your addiction.

I started out several years ago with the styrofoam ones. Last year I got a Sportsman 1502. I've hatched just under 1,000 chicks this year. Luckily I have a market for them, but I still have about 140 birds for my breeders.

I'd like to thank each and every member of BYC who has contributed to enabling me in my Chicken Addiction.

There are too many to name and I'm afraid I'd leave someone out. But thank you.

Perhaps my land-lady might not be as thankful to y'all.

But 40+ chickens of all ages are happy and healthy and running around in on an acre of land, or snuggling in brooders, or roosting in coops, plus a boatload of eggs in incubators can all be directly attributed to the input I've received from BYC.

They make me happy. And for that I'm grateful.

You enablers, you!

I know what you meen lol, I started off with 5 chickens, 3RIR and 2 Golden comets...then decided I need 10 so I go and buy 5 more baby BR. Then a few months later I decide I need a rooster because I want to try to hatch some chicks in the spring for butchering...........I came home with a 2 year old Roo and a 6 month old Roo and 2 more laying hens...........Did I mention that I got a goose when I got the BR chicks too? lol my flock keeps growing.

Now to build a Incubator and a brooder....... I think I may be startng to have a problum lol.

You have to look at it like this: You got chickens and made a coop, and then you wanted more. So you got more and expanded the coop. Then say you get some ducks. Expand again and then make ponds, so the ducks are happy and we all know chickens love mud too. Then you have a broody, and she hatches 8 more chicks. So you expand some more. And each time it gets better and better.

Now you can add construction experience to your resume.

You just have to put your obesession into perspective. Scrapbookers are highly organized and have some awesome attention to detail - not a drawer full of stickers and papers and scissors and such.
