I was in the usaf for a bit and still have a lot of friends serving...a lot of places have problems outside of this country. I have several friends who have died serving and I myself am a 35 DAV and lucky to be alive. I think a person should try to live a good life and if one feels a life outside of the US would be better I say go for it...but remember....sometimes you get what you wish for.... A lot of good people have died so we can voice our opinion about the USA....good or bad. A lot of other places would silence those voices.

Diesel electric. I've had the plans in my head for years.

I'm not old enough to remember the origional, but there was this surf shack in capatolia, right next to the pizza my heart, that would play it at happy hour... man to be 19 with no respinsibilities again. Looked at the boy today and realized that he's over the halfway mark to leave for college, and dang if I didn't tear up for a sec... of course I'd stepped on a lego right then.... Gonna give the kids some roots then once they're off I can do things like sail off into the sunset (you know I'm not getting up at dawn.....).

I know of a lovely place on the the Baja where the desert meets the sea. That is where my ashes are going to be scattered when I die. Nothing for miles but cactus, rocks and the ocasional stray cow. Fell in love with the place when I read the book, Girl of the Cortez Sea, and then again when I saw it in person as a new college grad trying to figure out where I was going with my life.

I've been to Canada, Niagra Falls area, and a houseboat trip one summer down the St. Lawrence River. Beautiful country. But anything below 70 is to cold for me.

I have a nephew who lives in Barhain. He, his wife and 3 kids just love it there. They have had the chance to travel to other far-away places such as Thialand which they say is paradise.

My husband is a former Marine who has been all over the world. He's told me of far off wonderful places but says he would live no where other than the USA. I think I stay here with him.

PS***The only time I plan to leave him is when we leave this earthly plane. I am going to the Baja and I'm putting my husband in one of the big planters outside the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill. It's the best final resting place for a Tarheel fanatic

Belize! That's the place! I watched Monsters Inside Me on Animal Planet last night and the man went there and came home with 5 botflies in his head. Enjoy.
