Hello, I became the proud owner of 6 hens when a friend could no longer keep them. Their strange behavior had me worried at times, but I called on my cousin who has raised all kinds of farm animals. We

recently added 8 hens and 1 rooster (he snuck in). He is magnificent but fresh. He bit my husband when he went in to fill the feeder. .

Keep an eye on your boy. He doesn't want you feeding his girls from the sound of it. Try giving him the food to feed them then finish filling the feeder.

Hello, and welcome! I hope that the rooster will straighten out for you. I agree with what @DobieLover mentioned in that he doesn't want to share the duties of feeding his girl's.
