Chapter 13
He gets into the car too. Then it makes a big noise and starts to move. I wobble around.
"What do you want from me?" I cluck.
"Oh... Shut up!" He yells.
"What?" I ask loudly.
"I said for you to shut up, ya darn chicken!"
I screech, because I can't understand him. I can tell he's getting angry with me. All I wanna know is what your trying to say to me. I roll my eyes.
"Er, uh, huh? What? Did you just..... No way... Did you just roll your eyes???" He asks with curiousity in his tone.
He's asking a question... What is he saying? Dumb humans. They know nothing. I roll my eyes again.
"You did it again!" He says. He sounds scared.
"What? What did I do?" I cluck.
"It's.... It's... It's almost like you... Can hear me! Or know that I'm talking to you."
"What did you say? I can't understand a word you say, ya know!" I start to get mad.
"See? Well... We are almost there."
I settled down. I nested on the comfy chairs.
"This chair is so much nicer than the one at home!" I squeak. "The one at home is hard and flimsy. This one is comfy and sturdy!"
"Stop clucking!" He warns me.
The comfy chair smells familiar. Like... Like something on the farm... An.... An...... An..... An ANIMAL!
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!" I screech. I start to go crazy. I run all over the place, knocking things over. "YOU KILLER!"
"Stop! Stop! We are just about there! Settle down you filthy mutt!" He yells.
One word I understood.... Mutt.... Sierra is right. I AM a mutt. I'm no more than a stupid battery hen mutt.

Chapter 14
"The house it right around the corner. How did you get so far?" The man asks me curiously.
"Why are you talking to me, when I can't understand one word you say? Well... I only understand one word you can say." I look down to the ground.
"Devil mutt.... We're here. I can't believe I just did that for your stupid owner/my stupid neighbor."
"I'm HOME!" I screech.
I start running around the car, crazily. The man gets out of the car and walks up to the human house.
"I've got one of your chickens in the back of my car. Saw her on the side of the road, on my way home from work." The man tells my human owner.
"Aww.... Thank you so much! How'd you know it was mine?" My human owner replies.
"Your the only one in town with poultry."
"Uh... Yeah, I forgot about that."
My human owner comes over to the car with animal seats. She opens the door.
"Here, girl... How'd you get so far?" She chuckles and picks me up.
I cluck happily. She takes me to the yard, and sits me down.
"Be good ya little trouble maker."
I trot off.
"Maizie! Where have you been?" I hear voices coming from the bushes.
Matt, Lacey, Butter, and Sierra came up to me. Sierra? Sierra? SIERRA? Oh my, Sierra was worried about me. Sierra of all hens!
"Maizie! I was so worried about you!" Sierra throws her wings around me. She steps back. "I mean, what are you doing here?"
I chuckle. "I took a run... And the human neighbor brought me back here, because I went really far."
Matt glares at Sierra. "Just tell her the truth, Sierra!"
"What truth? There's no truth to tell." Sierra replys.
"Oh, please! Your jealous of Maizie! You always were! I could tell!"
"No! I was never!" She pauses. "Fine! You got me!" She trots away crying.
"Matt..... You didn't need to do that!" I run after Sierra.
I catch up to her. "Don't worry about it."
