I am not a builder!

Yes, please show us photos of the close up of wheels. I still have not figured out how to get mine on since DH has been so busy and hasn't had a chance to help. Maybe we will tackle it this weekend.

I did however, spend 6 hours finishing the back door on the coop part yesterday. Whew! This has been some job!

Photos coming soon.

That is great - thank you!! Question - when you lower the wheel, how do you lock it into place so it doesn't flip up again? I saw your earlier post about having a board that slips in but (derrr!) I'm having a hard time visualizing that, ha ha!

Thanks again!!!

Thanks for the photo!
I got my wheels out laying on the ground next to the tractor. I was kinda hoping they would "magically" attach themselves but so far, no luck!

I'm with the other poster. How do you keep the wheels down? I can't visualize it either.

My tractor is very heavy and I need something very strong. And the wheels I am using come off an old Radio Flyer wagon. I just hope they are big enough not to sink into the ground under the weight.
I swear, my next one will be much, much lighter! DD painted my boards last night. Yippee......

Here is a picture with the wheels down. I am using as is for now, but I'm thinking of putting larger wheels on. When we built our coop it was rather hurried as the chicks were getting to big for the brooder, we were using stuff we had.

Thanks for the photo! It helps me to get an idea now about how to get my wheels to work on mine.
Guess what I will be doing today?!

Except for the wheels, I have it about completed. Thought I would put some photos on here to show it a bit. The wheels are still laying out beside it and we turn the tractor every few days almost in a circle so there is fresh grass underneath them. I just need more time from DH to get those wheels put on. Oh, and DD ran over one of my metal bars and crimped it so now I have to try and straighten that mess out. Always something and never a dull moment!

Here is that back door, silly window and all, finally completed. It took me forever to get that thing right! I'm telling you, I am really not a builder. It opens well though and is sturdy. The window may be a weak point but it would take some doing from a critter to get in that way. Unless its a bear and I'm not sure many
tractors could withstand one of those!

The side door built and put up. It swings well too but now that I go in and out every day to unlock the coop door I realize it should have been taller. Don't know how I would have done that but it is a thought.

This is looking in from the back door. You can see how I tried to frame in the window. Ha! And I have perches on each end and a nest box. I put their water outside all the time but food inside to try to keep down predators. I close the lift door each night and lock them in but you can see they have a window above it with hardwire cloth for air supply.

I'm working on another one now of different design but am having just as much trouble with it as this one! I will one day get this right! Maybe hire a builder.....because I am not one!
