I am officially insane....(Problem solved, update p. 4)

We only have one other chicken - a pullet about 15 weeks old - she tried to peck him to death when we tried to introduce them.

So then thats probably a no...

I sent a couple of pm's to people with chickens in my area that might be willing to sell me a chick. Hopefully I will hear something from them.

It is really sad, I think he is probably confused and can't decide if he is a person or a dog. Those are the only two creatures he has been around. The one time he was around another chicken, it tried to kill him, so I am sure he doesn't think he is a chicken.

Why don't you consider putting him in a sling next to your skin for warmth and carry him with you. I've never done it with chicks, but that's how I keep baby cockatoos calm when they continue to cry.

Just a thought, sometimes odd problems need odd solutions.

We spent a lot of time with or single roo!! When he got older everytime you walk by the window or door he would crow... He would crow every single time he saw me... They really dont like to be alone...I think they need a friend to keep them company...

He's a cutie! And totally bonded to you! He just doesn't like to be alone. Like many have said if you could get him a friend it would help.

Here's to hoping the feather duster works! And maybe covering the outsides when you go to bed, just make sure the head doesn't build up too much inside the tank when you put a cover on it.....

Thanks everybody for all of the suggestions. I will try a few things tonight and give you an update. Hopefully things will get better. If not, my husband is going to start thinking I am cheating on him with a chicken...
