I am ordering a new flock soon..need advice about something?

I believe that goes back to what I was talking about when I said customers pick up chicks and then absentmindedly put them back in the closest bin.
Just because the chicks were sexed to start with, doesn't mean they're going to stay that way once they are in the bins at the store. And don't trust the store employees to be able to tell them apart and correct the situation.

I agree 100 percent!!!

give or take 10 chicks equals the $25 min form Ideal and you can get all pullets and they send packing peanuts that tend to be cockrels.

If you can go to a feed store that gets sexed chicks then good for you but the selections tend to be BO, BR, cornish X, RIR, and sexlinks, along with a banty assortment (@ least at my feed store).

If you go to TSC the day the chicks come in then the likely hood that they are in the right boxes is higher then if you went later in the week

I noticed that you are in Southwest, MO. How close are you to Springfield. There is a hatchery there, Estes, that I bought some birds from several years age and they were awesome. They don't have a great selection, but their birds were very healthy and have made great layers. If you can, you might consider a trip to the hatchery to pick up what you want. Solve 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. They do have a website. Just a thought.

If i were you try Estes hatchery in Springfield i believe they sometimes sell pullets about ready to lay .

I second (third) the local hatchery idea. We got guinea fowl from Estes in Springfield last year, very nice, and we'll be filling out our chicken flock with about 8 birds from them this year. Just call the 800 # from their website and you can tell them what you want and they'll tell you when to come in. We're picking up on Feb 18th.

If you're closer to Lebanon, Cackle will also do small orders for pickup. I spoke to them about it last year but didn't end up using them.

Have fun.
