Not necessary at all. It's not going to hurt ff to sit without stirring after the first 3 days. Afterward it's ok to miss a day or two. If it does mold (dark) just scrap it off and stir down. It will kill any left over. This is good stuff and easy. I only stir when I dip it out daily.
