I am sick of it! *rant, vent and General yapping*

I just want to say that crows and bluejays are awesome! They repel all large aerial predators. They are more than welcome to eat with my chickens any time they like. My family of 6 crows and 7 bluejays are like part of the family. The crows eat right alongside the chickens and never bothered my 4+ week old free ranging chicks who are 11+ weeks old now.

As for what I "feel" at 2am while hunting raccoons...

"Why the heck can't I be in bed sleeping!"

Feathered Wings I am sorry to hear about your loss to the kingsnake. They are a threat to chicks and small stuff like that, without question. However I have all large butt heavy girls...the snake would not mess with them.

Oh yea the fox and skunks here are our major rabies carriers...I am not gonna mess with them. The thing that worries me...the fox attack on Tuesday morning and they found "the fox" on wednesday on a highway dead. You just can never be sure if that is the fox ya know. Scarey. Poor child.

I totally agree with this. I don't mind racoons, opossums, foxes, etc and I'd like to let them live their lives out happily finding prey OUTSIDE of my property. If we see any type of predator near our birds it gets killed. End of story. I will not have something come and make a buffet out of my PETS that I have raised and put lots of time and money into.

The End.

agreed.

And I reallky dont think most of us here enjoy killing anything it is frankly WAY more fun to talk about killing them after an attack and you are all heated up, but that "fun" is over once the reality hits and the stupid thing is in a trap looking all cute at you like it swears it wont rip the heads off any more chooks. I kill mine now because I dont want to pass on smart, trap crafty, chicken hungry predators on anyone else.
