Your detector is working well...yup I am frustrated....I am sick of the whining, paw holding, pointing finger crapola. Get a grip...if it wants to eat your chickens you either A...Let it and keep your trap shut or B: You call a trapper (waste of money because they kill them 9 out of 10 times anyway) and C: Kill the stupid thing.

I am not going to party with, invite inside, feed or harbor chicken/duck killing critters period. I am changing my signature to read

If it wants my chickens and tries...it dies!

Do I like killing them? nope Will I? you betcha I got money, time and my heart invested in my chickens and ducks

*sits down in a huff beside PC* PC I do not shoot birds. Fox, skunks and mountain lions or two dogs...yes. Birds...nope.

heck no I feed them...they tore into a redtail hawk the other day and sent her packing off somewhere else. Crows and Jays are good to have around. Yup Yup

Well, I'll admit I'm probably one of the biggest animal lovers in the world. However, I have given DH my permission to shoot any varmint that goes after my chickens, cats, dogs, quail, etc. I do believe in killing humanely (not crazy about the whole drowning them thing, but to each his/her own), but I won't tolerate a critter killing and/or harassing any of My critters!

Wow gorgeous snake. Thanks for sharing that picture. I have a huge kingsnake here that my roomie ran out with a shovel to kill and I stopped him. Mr. Kingsnake was swallowing a small diamondback. I was doing the happy dance and singing "YEAH GO SNAKE GO SNAKE" I even pointed to the coop and told him eggs were there if he wanted any to pleaes feel free, enjoy. Yeah buddy he can stay and steal eggs. As long as his big healthy self is here the rattlers are not.

fattie...gal you rock. I slapped one of these foxes with the newly delivered phone book one day. I assumed he would be smart enough to get the clue that I did not want him around the house and coop...but noooooooooooooo he came back with two buddies. Well RIP stupid fox. I gave him fair warning...smack to the face with a phone book and hit with a rock.

ArizonaNessa - you are not kidding there. I killed one years ago that I had to shoot twice at point blank range to drop him/her. vicious, snarling, sharp fanged/teeth critters. Tenacious critters for sure.

Crows, magpies etc all live happily here with the chickens, they protect them from the wild hawks and buzzards...so yep it's ok by me to come and eat the food.......

I am amazed when I see the smaller birds working together to get rid of hawks, etc. They send the hawks packing!

We have a few vultures that sit in a large oak tree, but they've never bothered the chickens. They make me nervous, though - I worry that if I fall asleep or relax in one place for too long, they'll mistake me for road kill!!!
