It does seem that way. Disturbing. I agree people should do what they feel has to be done, but I would think it would be done with a heavy heart for stopping the heartbeat of any creature.
I am not sure anyone of us can interpert "how" someone is feeling when they type about having to dispose of a preditor.
What we think is glee at killing something for the poster it may be heartbreak, how really do we know.
I know I for one cant feel how someone 1000's of miles away is feeling at the time of the post.
Now I have posted about a miserable mink killing one of my best Roosters and beating it off the hen with a broom handle, did anyone stop to think in my moment of stupidity,( think about it mink, broom handle, could there be the potential for disaster there sure as heck was) That I might have been scared to death>? felt like the biggest heel in the world? realized the stupidity just way too late? nope bet ya didnt see that coming.
The word "ASSUME" certainly comes to mind with a lot of posts in the P&P threads, and I guess many of us understand what the word means.
ETA:
Last night due to all the rain we have been having here, and soft ground, something dug under the wire, and wiped out 12 chicks 10 - 12 week olds, jersy giants and show quality sultans, I have to be on coop duty tonight to stop the loss of another round of chicks, do I feel good about it NO i do not, I know critters have to eat but darn it thre is a whole other forest out there, there is no need to use my coop as their personal snack bar, and yes interpert away I am very angry.
