It is still before Memorial Day, you should be able to replant most things, maybe not lettuce and other things that hate the heat, but beans will still make a good crop, beets, carrots, all of that - make the kids replant it all!

Gah! I've had that happen to me, too! @#$#@ cows all in my corn! So mad! Had to get the horse to round all them beasties up, which tore up the ground even more. One cow refused to cooperate, tried to gore the horse, and she was hanging the next day. Sold every one of them the next week and bought calves to small to jump the fence and young enough to respect the electric wire. Gah! Still mad over that!

Dang ........... gotta hate it when something like that happens, Rabbits are my achiles heal they are ruining my seedlings. Have shot a bunch but they just keep comin. Good luck to you next yr.

You still can replant, you have some time left. The harvest will be a little later. Heck I am still planting my corn rows so I can have staggered harvestings. Trying to get them all done before DD gets out of school.

Oh no way would anyone get away with this! Hubby,grandkids,cattle....ALL of them would be in deep caca!

Sounds to me that you have some grandchildren that OWE you a new garden.Child labor laws do not apply to family members

If not this year the next....but I would insist they hand plow. I'm not even joking.
How old are your grandchildren? And why on earth would your DH say he doesn't care about your garden? That is not a nice thing to say at all.

I'm sorry for your losses. I read this thread to my family. My children gasped multiple times while I was reading...

Maybe you can get a early fall garden in..being from that area; it is too late for most things now..I would be hopping mad too.

About 10+/- years ago when we still lived there, I lost my garden to flooding but if memory serves me right, I planted peas/corn/squash/cukes right before Labor Day and did o.k.I couldn't find tomato plants and didn't have time to start them from seed..We did have to do some night watering.

Thanks for all the replies Just came in from trying to recoup of of it. All my potatoe plants are gone (around 50) I tried to dig alittle down and did find some tiny potatoes in the dirt I brought them in to try to use again when they get eyes. I managed to stand up some of the corn I think the sweet corn might come back but the other corn has had it I have maybe 3 stalks left from 10x10 patch of corn. My stringbeans.cucumbers, and peas are totally gone. All the bean plants are there but the pods that were hanging are gone. For some reason they didnt touch the squash so I still have that and the tomatoes. I dont think I can replant as its already hitting the nineties here,Most of the onions are all broken off so I dont have much hope for them. The grandkids claim they put the cows out so I imagine I have the only flying cows in the world. The boys are 13 and 12 They help me around here all the time and know the routine. DH told them they both lost a days pay that hurt them more than making them help replant, but I am still mad I blame DH most of all as we have had this argument many times over his cows. They destroyed my apple trees as well but I am not supposed to get upset. He claims I wont care when I am eating the fresh beef. I told him its going to be sooner than he thinks if it happens again.

If you have a shady spot you can plant for a fall potato crop. We are planting our fall potatos now and it is warm here in Ga too.

Get the book, The Square Foot Garden. The new edition. You can have a garden with about 10% of the labor of a conventional garden.
