Don't feel to bad... Last year at night I had the heatlamp fall on my first batch of chicks and we didn't know about it until we woke up the next morning. It had my only bantam SLW under it and the poor little thing was gone... I felt so bad...Now I screw the light TO the brooder so this wont ever happen again.

Tomorrow we are changing to a 120 watt bulb. White but not as hot.


I am sorry for your loss. I am a new chick mom myself and lost 2 to something I did a couple days ago. Live and learn.

Sorry to hear about that but you should use this time to secure it a ways better so as not to repeat it. Once again sorry to hear
