What an awful story! Sounds like your neighbor had it coming to him. But the real tragedy of this story is that you let him set you up this way. You pretty much had him finally out of your life for the most part. If only you could have kept your cool and simply called the police to report the incident instead. I'm not blaming him mind you... it would have taken incredible discipline NOT to go after that guy - it's just a shame.
