Ok I didnt read all the pages (got to page 4) but that collar IS some kind of tracking, I dont care what they say. I had bears coming here with a small child and dogs, I made the mistake of calling the WI DNR. They did nothing until, like you, they killed my child or dog. I ended up using buckshot or birdshot. Enough to sting but not wound. We shot at it and it never came back. Now that I have had chickens we aint seen nothing but I do the same again without calling WI DNR (once called they knew who to come to if a bear ended up dead)

I am right there with you Shaggy, I love a good cooked bear roast.

Unfortunately this one has a tracking collar, its obviously been deemed a nuisance bear. what grates me is the Game Dept is doing nothing to help this family, even knowing the bear is tracked to her front door.

Well in reading this thread I can tell most of ya have not been around for the other 2 threads of Warrior's. This is not a new problem for her and others from her state.


There has been many news reports on these bears and the need for a hunt and still nothing is being done. The state officals are being strong armed (weak rear ends that they are) by a anti hunting group called B.E.A.R. This group is a very radical group.

One family had a bear come into their house while they were making dinner, the family dog protected them long enough for them to get upstairs and call for help. The family listened to that bear kill their dog. The police came and shot the bear and killed it while it was inside this family's home. That group came to this family's home and terrorised this family night and day and the police did nothing to them. They even put a cage in the yard and dressed someone up as a bear and pretended to shoot and kill it over and over. Where were the cops to arrest this group, freedom of speech. Family had to move if I remember this right.

One of the B.E.A.R group who was saying don't feed the bears get bear proof garbage cans was caught feeding these bears. I know that she was arrested for that but have not heard what she got out of it.

I am sorry to say this but it is going to take someone getting killed before something is going to be done it that state about the radical bear problems. Sadly it will be a young child waiting for the bus with a lunch in their back pack.

And even if that happens I doubt that the state officals are going to grow a back bone and go against this B.E.A.R. group.

I just don't understand how a few radical idiots can do so much damage to a state. Actually yes I do, the common sense people have not spoken up. The few who do speak up are far and few between and they speak to the wrong people. And when they do speak up they are attacked by this B.E.A.R. organization who are people who use the freedom of speech laws to attack innocent victems.

Until the common sense people take a stand then I fear nothing will be done, even if someone ends up hurt or killed.

Warrior don't let anyone catch ya shooting those bears with a paint gun it is illigal there. Also don't do anything to get thrown in jail as you will get more for shooting/killing the bear than someone who kills a person.

I am keeping you all in my prayers, I can only advise you to start bugging those people in office and get everyone ya know to do the same. If those TV people will help ya out then try to organize a group of civil common sense people to start a fight for the right for people to be safe from bears committee and fight political with political. I agree that a good bear roast is some good eating. But for those of you that like bacon and eggs, try some bear bacon.

For those of you that have read any of my bear postings, you know there is only one thing to do with a bear on your property, SHOOT IT.

As for any of those B.E.A.R. people, they are more than welcome to talk to me about what I do with a bear. I might just change thier way of thinking once I send them in a bear den with a mama bear and her cubs.

Any bear within 50 yards of my fence is dead if I see it. 10 years ago this would not have been true and I had as many bears around then. Now I have neighbors that don't put their garbage up
and some some that even feed them. This has taken all the fear of humans out of the bear. Now we are the bears 7/11, open 24/7 for a snack.

If you don't want to shoot the bear yourself, go to a local sporting good store and watch who is buying large caliber shells. See if they or someone they know will do it for you.

Just don't tell anyone else what you are doing. SSS Me I could care less what any B.E.A.R. thinks. They might get the same treatment they want the bear to get. My grand kids have paint ball guns around here some place and I have some light load bird shot I use on dove.

any bear around here and i would have a fit . but happley there are few bears around here . I live on the east cost of canda . And the natrul resorces in canada does not put up with bears around humans. i only rembre there being 1 bear around here . But not even shure of that i was only 3-4 .
