At the university I spent my lunch hours "trying" to read the foreign newspapers and magazines. Der Spiegel was my usual. I was teased by the students because I joked that the magazine either was about Hitler or sex!! Europeans are far out compared to my life experiences.

Oh I hear you. The stuff going on is just terrible. I believe Kabel 1 has some great shows about nature and animals that may work for you. here are your vocabularies for the day:

Rooster- Hahn

Horse- Pferd (sorry, I had to get that one in)
