I took German in college, and I loved it! I was actually separated from the man next to me for talking in class, although we only spoke German....

Maybe you could get with someone and buy the same German text, and go through lessons. If you don't live close together, you could Skype your lessons. I've tried just doing lessons myself, but it's not as beneficial without someone with which to talk.

I love German's long works, but I struggle with all the articles (den, dem, der, etc). The longest word in my workplace is on a label on a food container, "nur fur lebensmittelgescheft."

I reckon the word for the subject "science"
is pretty impressive when it comes to long words

I have done a little talking since I made this thread
it was a bit of a fail
I tend to stumble over the German words
sometimes I even stumble over English words

I took three years of it in college. was a fluent speaker at one time but no longer for lack of use. I loved it and seemed so easy to me .....It was actually my Minor. My last year of German was nothing but translating German history books into english and then having to converse with my Prof to explain what it all was "auf Deutsch"
It will come back to me if I spend the time to speak or read it but dont have alot of use for it.
