I am wondering what breeds I have?

I bought my babies at an auction. They were billed as Rhode Island Reds and Copper Marans. Are these actually them? They all look so different.

Your RIR is the norm for the production version of RIR, your maran is a blue copper.

To me, they don't look like either of the breeds. They look more like mixes.

NOT MY PHOTO...............Blue coppers come in light to dark blues, yours looks dark, the one in the photo is light, different breeders will breed for different characteristics. Production RIR are cross bred chickens made for egg and meat production and vary in different shades and stances. Heritage RIR are totally different, but people label them the same.

Agree they're mixed breed birds. The blue/copper boy should make some pretty babies if you're so inclined
