Glad the birds are happy. I KNOW that boy is happier with his own harem. If there's a thread for the hatch, let me know!! Would love to see pics.

Oh Lori, your new set up looks great!!!!!!

You have made a lot of progress in such a short time. You have some very lucky chickens. They are going to love their new house.

Looking forward to following your progress.

Dh worked on the interior today. Sure looks small now, but they will have full access to the run, so should have enough room I hope. We'll see, very soon.

He also put the shelves up. Now I'm wishing they were up a tad higher, or with less support in front. DH says he can change the front support to give me more usable space. He insisted on working on it while I was gone school shopping with the kids, Shoulda known better!

And he hurt himself, too. Did something to his left Achilles tendon. Guess he's going to the doc tomorrow, and I'll be doing the trench-digging for the next few days!

He is definately king of the yard, alittle agressive at first, but settling in just fine.

Funny you should ask about the trench, Kim...

Yes it's been dug. The bottom foot of cloth was buried, and sides 'sewn' shut with wire. The doors to the run were cut and little 'porches' built over them to keep water from being able to get in. Small roosts were built inside. Also, for the big gate outside runs 1 & 2 I set in 6 16" concrete pavers to create a smoother entrance. We'll do the same for the front door of the shed later.

Hubby finished framing the other 3 inside pens, but I didn't get a pic of that yet. We have enough done to start moving the birds in! I'm going to get a couple more feeders & waterers until we can run the 'plumbing' and new feed system.

We need to move the birds from the swingset coop into the pens 1 & 2, because part of the swingset coop will be used to build the walls of the back 3 runs. It's coming right along, though!!

I'm so happy for you!!!!! Oh sigh....hopefully one day I'll have my breeder's coop. Looks like we need to invest in the barn for equipment first.
