I bought feed at China Mart!

I use Manna Pro egg maker (layer pellets) and use thier chick crumbles too. I get mine from the feed store but I know the WalMart sells it as well. I would not hesitate to get it from there if I had too. Fortunately I rarely need to go to the feed store on the weekend and if I did need to go on a Sunday I would go to TSC (they are getting chicks soon, if not already)....

Or the chicken itself, right? Chickens are omnivores, a little recognized fact. Omnivorous creatures will eat anything by definition, not the least of which is carrion (look it up if you are unfamilar with the word

Those prone to squeamishness probably don't want to know what their birds are eating behind their backs.

My dislike is based entirely on practical considerations.

Now there is a quote for the ages. May I borrow that?

Be my guest, as it accurately reflects my point of view. Don't tend to like companies that drive down local wages, close down local establishments, buy from sweatshop operations, destroy the environment, and ship their profits out of town.

I don't like Wal-Mart, either. For the reasons mentioned, as well as their arrogance. They attempted to build in my town a few years ago, and sent out postcards to all addresses that encouraged people to get out and support Wal-Mart, and gave several choices as to how they could support the store. In other words Wal-Mart corporations suggestions as to what your choices were to help them enter the local market (presumably by changing zoning, etc.). It made me so mad! It wasn't even a choice as to whether we wanted them here or not, just how they would allow us to support them. I don't like the feel of desperation in the stores, either.

Wow, are we talking about the same WalMart?

Honestly, you all have put a lot into this, with WalMart ending up the devil incarnate. What books are you guys reading??

What about Target? The GAP? Big Lots? Barnes and Noble? Starbucks? The painters down the block, tossing their waste in the recycle bin? How about the people using modern ag practices... and feeding their families along with so many others.
Did anyone complain when Google essentially took over, driving out their competition?
Who cares that FIAT sucked up the lions share of Chrysler ownership?

Everyone affects the landscape, in some way.

But, did you know that WalMart is a pioneer in green energy technologies? They recently installed a number of low impact point-of-use power generators at their facilities. So did Ebay. And Google. And Starbucks. Hows that for some threatening company?

So WalMart sells chicken feed. Why not? Maybe we should all get a bag or two and try it out, before we condemn it.
C'mon, we'll go together. It'll be fun. We can stop at Starbucks on the way.
