Or... if no broody, it's not too difficult to make a bator. If you can wire a table lamp with good instructions, you can build a reliable incubator.

Take them back to the auction?Thank you. How would you go about getting rid of them?
Thank you for your reply. I thought I might take a fly scatter with me. I don't want to hurt him, but he is not going to intimidate me like that again! Maybe a broom?!

He was probably sent to the auction because of aggression. I would be butchering it, and wouldn't try to fix it.View attachment 1335514 View attachment 1335514 View attachment 1335515 View attachment 1335517 Hello all! I now have a big problem with the big rooster I bought at the auction
I went in the pen yesterday a few times feeding and with water a couple of times, then I did my daily cleaning. Everything's fine. I went in to collect my buckets and when I opened the door, the big boy came running at me with his wings spread like he was going to attack me! Do roosters peck you or what? I was really scared. So I shut the door to collect my self for a few minutes.
I went back in and he did it again! This happened 2-3 times! Needless to say, my cleaning supplies stayed over night.
It's time to go get my stuff. Is he going to hurt me when I go in? Exactly what can a rooster do? I've never been around chickens before, I got these thinking it might be easier to learn everything. Now I'm wishing I would have started with chicks. I thought they would be nice pets! I've not got one egg yet. And now my rooster has me too afraid to go in to feed! Please help?
