I built a coop! NOW WHAT? Help!

Hello, and welcome to BYC! I'm so glad you decided to join our friendly and helpful community. ā™„ļø
Would you like to post pictures of your coop so we can see where you're at? We might be able to help with run suggestions or anything else you need. 😌

Welcome to BYC! Chickens will need plenty of ventilation in their coop as well as fresh feed and water. Chicken feed can be purchased at any farm store. Chicks will need starter feed, and layer hens will need layer pellets. I normally don’t put my feed outside the coop, I just leave the door open.

Welcome! I keep my chickens mobile as well.

I highly recommend hanging waterers and feeders to reduce mess and waste. Mine hang from a double shepherd's hook with jack chain. It's easy to move. I slip the top half of a milk jug through the chain to discourage younger birds from eating out of the top of the feeders.

Does your mobile coop have an attached run? Mine do not, and I live in a very predator heavy area. Premier1 PoultryNet has served me very well so far. Easy to move and my solar charger has exceeded expectations.

You're sure to get plenty of great advice here. Best of luck to you with your flock!
