Even though I'm moving to another home in an HOA I can still get some chicks! I have a friend that owns a farm and her hens are getting old. So I worked out a deal. I'll buy 3 barred rock hens (what I want) and a big bag of feed and they can stay at her farm and we'll share the eggs.
It's a win win. She's even going to teach me some harvesting skills and other farm skills as an added bonus. :)

Congratulations on becoming a new chicken owner. It sounds like you have figured out a very good plan.

    Yay!!! Better than nothing, right?

I'm sorry you're moving into another HOA, though. Maybe you prefer those, but I avoid them like the plague. Not that you were asking my opinion. [IMG]
