6 months ago I lost a hen to what I think was a respiratory disease. I had pneumonia and wasn't paying enough attention until she was showing signs of illness.
Clara has been a bit shy for three days and staying in a crate a lot. I picked her up and I can hearing her breathing. It is faint but I can hear it.
I've looked and Duramycin and Tetracycline comes up in the searches.
I need advice and hopefully can nip this in the bud. I feel I should isolate her and am cleaning out a big dog crate to keep her in. She is still eating heartily and gobbled down scrambled eggs earlier. I have fresh hay for the litter in the crate.
Clara is my favorite. My veterinarian knows nothing about chickens and there is no one closer than 4 hours that treats chickens.
