I can hear the fisher cats outside. Why now?

I was right. They're fisher cats. The barn for the school for kids with mental issues is just a few houses down and the noise is creepy. Like screaming children but not. I'm starting to wonder if the property on the other side of the river is being developed. Why else would they suddenly appear - and so close to people's homes too?

cute..but VERY vicious...i have heard of them coming through peoples windows(screens) at night to get at a pet..a guy at petco was telling me that story..freaked me out..my cats are always in my windows!..wendy

I wanted to hear what they sounded like, so I searched the web. I found this. I don't know about you, but it gives me shivers. Had I heard that noise, I would have been freaked out, even if I knew what it was..
