Robin'sBrood :
It sure wasn't perfect on Wednesday... 160/90 & 146/92... scared the tar out of me, it has NEVER been that high before! But I've been following doctor's orders and doing basically nothing.
How does an OB make a mess of notes, you'd think he would be used to making those.
I hope your midwife can sort it all out without any problems.
blood pressure is tricky and variable. If you were rushing or worrying, it'd be higher. If you had eaten something salty that day, it'd be higher. My cardiologist used to tell me off for eating before the appointment because it messed up the true readings if I ate something salty (and most food I could get near the hospital was too salty)
the obstetrician didn't listen to a word I said, frankly I felt like a cow because I may as well have been in calf and saying "moo" as actually a pregnant woman speaking to her. She also took the report from the sonographer as truth despite me telling them and her that the dates were wrong because they entered the data wrong (and they mis-spelled my name) and officially altered my due date based off that and proceeded to tell me that my baby is too small - well he would be if they've entered a date a fortnight earlier than reality! She ignored what I said and told my midwife that the GP was using the wrong size cuff to find out my BP - whereas she told me she was going to ask if I could borrow a larger cuff instead as since getting pregnant I've become too big for the cuff on my BP machine (can't remember the extremely long word for it...). I was told she was going to get the midwife to enquire about me borrowing one from the surgery, the midwife was told to contact me about getting my blood pressure checked weekly (which I'm already doing twice a week anyway). When I first saw the obstetrics team the consultant told me because of my medical history I would be seen by one of them every fortnight throughout the pregnancy, this joker decided that monthly will do but also decided that I need weekly ultrasounds because my baby is too small - again not listening when I told her that she was using the wrong dates. And then instructed her assistant who booked me an appointment for a month's time to have an ultrasound... It's not that I mind having more scans, but none of this is compulsory so she SHOULD have asked me if I objected really... but that doesn't sound like weekly, so she's not even consistent! She cancelled one of my appointments that the previous obstetrician had booked for me too, without asking me. she wrote various appointments on my hand held notes (the ones I carry to every appointment with any medic I see) with the name of the hospital I'm to go to for them but didn't note down what they were for, where I'm supposed to go etc... There's one with a date and she did mention it's for a scan.. but no time. One of them has nothing to tell me which hospital I need to go to (my appointments are split between 2 - the one's nearer but harder to get appointments for, the other is harder to get to. Same team of doctors etc work at both depending on which day it is) but has every other detail I need... Fortunately I doubt if I'll see her again any time soon, I seem to see a different member of the team each time anyway unless it's something serious enough for me to see the consultant.
