if you are past 37 weeks why would they do the procedure????? My son was born 35 weeks and his lungs were mature, but I know babies are different. I wouldn't let them do it if it was my baby.
Momof5b1g,
I had one done 5 years ago with my son and it hurt like a bee sting for about 1 minute then seemed sore like a small bruise then all was well.
The one I had in Feb hurt less than a blood test. I really felt nothing. Do not fear it it really did not hurt at all. They give you a sonogram again too at the same time.
thats good to know!
they are doing it so they can give me a c-section sooner than later..i dont mind because i do want this all to be over with. i havent hardly slept in a week and im so tired.i do wonder what the chances are that his lungs will be considered mature though.
Why are they discussing this, is he breach? You're braver than I am, that's for sure... I don't even want to be induced, much less have to have a c-section!
motherof5boys1girl,
I am sure everything will be just fine and the amnio is nothing compared to labor. I will pray that your little one is old enough for this to be over for you soon for his sake and yours. Please keep us as up to date as possible on your and the babies well being.
Hooray for Ninny
Please recover soon we will be awaiting pictures soon.
he WAS breech but now hes not..no, its to avoid shoulder distocia..i also want to get my tubes tied but general anesthetic really messes with me so this way, i can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak..im not too worried about it, i just want it over with. i also get this feeling they are tired of my questioning everything and want me out of the way too.
gpamela3499, thanks so much, i hope hes ready too! if not, the 22nd it is
I'm trying to compile a list of "absolutely essential" things we'll need for when the baby is born - because in my situation they could decide I've had enough and take the baby out at any point from here on - and my family history tendstowards very premature babies too...
so, what would you put on your lists?
so far -
cot/bassinette/basket - somewhere for baby to sleep
sheets for the cot x 3 (minimum)
baby sleeping bag (easier than blankets) x3
about 25 cloth nappies/diapers (and the necessary bits to make them work - pins/nappy nippas, covers/wraps, liners, bucket with a lid...)
some eco disposables for while we're in the hospital
clothes for a july baby - sleep suits, baby vests (onsies), scratch mittens, maybe some cute other clothes but not too many coz they're only in newborn size for a few weeks (or not at all if your baby is more than 10lb like my cousin's last one was - ouch!). maybe a sun hat.
bibs!
steriliser & bottles (and formula in case I can't breast feed) - get a pump later if I can so daddy can take his turn at night feeds!
car seat (won't let us leave the hospital without one) and stroller/pram suitable from birth
changing mat
cotton wool.
baby bath - or a bucket,or we can use the kitchen sink if necessary!

what am I missing?
we all know I can be a bit clueless about this stuff, so please share the benefit of your experience!
