My morning sickness got less severe with each pregnancy...
First 2 pregnancies were close together with very severe nausea and vomiting. I lost a lot of weight with both of them.
3rd pregnancy - often nauseous, never threw up
4th pregnancy - no nausea or vomiting
So every pregnancy is different and even after those first two pregnancies where I was so, so sick - I still wanted that 3rd baby. Friends thought I was crazy for even considering it because I'd never met anyone who had it worse than I did, but I kept telling them "pregnancy is the shortest part of having a child" and I could put up with the sickness in order to get the reward at the end. Fortunately, my other pregnancies were much easier than the first 2, as far as the sickness went.
Dear Expecting BYC mothers,
I'm not preggies but I'm getting a new a new little cousin on the 7th of July 2010!
And Congrats to all those soon to be momma's!
Hey ladies...I posted on this thread a few months ago and then never came back. I see everyone due around me had their babies.
I had mine too, a girl. She was 7 pounds 6 oz and 20 inches long. At 6 weeks she's already 11 pounds. She's chubby, lol.
She was born at home. I didn't feel any pain, just squeezing pressure, and I didn't think I was going to have the baby. I tried to make DH go to work, but he called the midwife to come make sure the pressure wasn't labor. The midwife said it was, but I didn't believe her because it didn't hurt!
I decided to take a bath because I got sweaty walking around with my DH outside and feeding/watering the chickens...when I was in the bath I felt this strange noise, kind of like fingers snapping in my lower belly. Then a second later my water broke. The midwife checked me and I was almost 10 cm with just a lip of cervix left. After my water broke it was really intense and sort of painful, lots of burning but it didn't last long. I got out on the bed and my body started pushing and she was born 35 minutes later. Most amazing experience ever, I wish I'd stayed home with my first DD.
If you're interested in that sort of thing her birth story and a video of her birth are on my blog here .
There are pictures of right after she was born here .
I'm roughly 11 weeks along. we'll find out for sure on Tuesday when I have a sonogram. I'm so excited to see the baby.
This is our first and probably only as I'm already 39. I never thought this would happen for us, but now that it has I'm really happy. So is daddy to be! So far hardly any morning sickness.
acissej and jjchickenshack, welcome to the thread!
I know what you mean about not thinking it would ever happen to you - I'd finally come to terms with the fact that I would never have children... and now this one's being born in a month's time! eeeek!
