I have two appts. with OB this week, I get to meet the third doctor in my OB team, who would have thought a person could need three docs lol I'm hoping to get more pictures of my little bean, I have had ultrasounds at every appt. so I'm pretty sure I will have another, I'm just hoping for a picture

Have to share this! Just got a call from the nurse with results from the blood tests I had done on Monday. Due to my age alone, the chance of me having a baby with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) was 1/42 and the chance of having a baby with Trisomy 18 or 13 was 1/73. AFTER the blood test/ultrasound those numbers have changed to... T21 is now 1/821, and T18/13 is now 1/1441!

Praise God, this is very good news!

thats good! was there a chance that your little one could have any of those conditions?
i opted out of all of the tests..they always come back positive for me for some reason, and they are always wrong.
i am going to buy some maternity clothes in a couple weeks! i cant wait

There was a good chance of my baby having those conditions because I'm of "advanced maternal age"... I'm 42, and the baby is due just days before my 43rd birthday. I've opted out of having any invasive testing done, like amnio, but having the ultrasound/blood test come back with such good results sure has eased my mind! I'll have a level 2 ultrasound done in 6 weeks, to look at the organs and be sure everything looks good there too.

so you are 42? that makes me feel so much better because when i was at my appointment..i felt like the oldest mom to be there.

i cant wait to get an ultrasound and find out what i am having. i am still stuck on boys names, but we decided on mary elizabeth for a girl.

I guess you can add me to the list after 3 positive tests today. It is sad that I took so many but I guess shock does that to you. I have a 15 yr old so I am a little "surprised" to say the least. Guess I'll be due around end of June. I'm a little nervous to get through the 1st trimester though.

dont feel bad, i took 2!

i feel awkward myself, having several teens..because they "know" how and why and all of that..i cant pawn them off with the stork story!

Shock and denial are pretty powerful, aren't they? I can't believe my first trimester is over already. Wow, it really went by so fast!

I think the shock is finally subsiding. I just moved (I am in the military) and started working at a new place last week so I can't wait to go in and tell them. We have mostly women working in our shop which is not the norm so maybe it won't go too badly.
