. And I've already been accused of being "too posh to push" (because obviously these idiots know better than the doctors, right?

Labor and delivery is no picnic, that's for sure, but the reward at the end makes it worth every minute of the pain... otherwise we would all only have one child.

Or everyone would have an epidural.

That's the way I'm going. I told my husband if there were no such thing as an epidural we'd be adopting.

i hear that..i will never ever forget having my first, before epidurals were really used..i honestly thought i was dying!

Yeah, I have no pain tolerance as it is. Plus I don't see why I should torture myself with "natural" labor when there are good alternatives.

thanks Robin.

I would prefer to go through labour than have the section... but not at the probable cost of my life! So unless something changes the obstetrician's and cardiologist's minds about it, there won't be any labour for me. Unless I get a very early onset labour, that is. Which would mean a very rapid ambulance journey and emergency surgery anyway.

At least they'll be able to tell me EXACTLY when my baby is going to be born, takes some of the surprise out of it but also a LOT of the danger and hassle.
I'm just a bit sensitive about it because I've been criticised for the section before it's even happened.

Also... I swear I've grown about 2 inches of bump in the last fortnight, judging off my clothes and how they fit. Can't be sure though because tape measures and I have never got along well - I hate being measured!

true! and it's pretty scary either way.
I'm afraid I get rather aggressive with "what, you'd rather me die? thanks a lot!" and things like that

I should just ignore it.
