i heard about that but you know...until this year, i have NEVER been told not to eat deli meat..i would eat and enjoy! some of these new "rules" are just stupid, in my opinion..i guess they are for people who live in fear of what ifs non stop.

some of those ladies are absolutely rabid.
i drink coffee too..and i had a mixed drink on new years! i think there is a line between common sense and unnecessary worrying.

here is something worth repeating..its a quote from "what to expect when you are expecting". its in the labor and delivery section on page 366, talking about a husbands role in helping his wife through labor.

"If she requests medication, communicate her request to the nurse or practitioner, but suggest a waiting period before its administered."

i would KILL my husband if i sent him to get my pain medicine and he told them to wait!

that is funny.....my husband always begs me to get the epidural before I wait to late.....haha waited to late with the 3rd baby and he was crowning while I was on my side getting the epidural. I might try this one all natural. Been there before....and they let you get out of bed sooner not to mention no catheter.

you are braver than i am. i am seriously just a big weener when it comes to pain. i am trying to figure out how we are going to do this, the actual birth, that is.
if they induce me in the morning,(in a month, not tomorrow), i am thinking of having my husband just go into work and then calling him when the real action starts..ill be bringing the laptop, movies, and probably will spend the day chatting and hanging out. hopefully. im so nervous!
i was all ready until i realized that i really do just have a month..now i am getting all anxious!

I feel you there! I head straight for the coffee maker in the morning. I spent all day Saturday laying on my stomach on the beach, with a hole hollowed out for my belly. I take hot baths (which my doc said was fine). The only thing I've stopped eating is raw oysters and raw sushi...everything else is the same as long as I can stomach it.

LOL! Man, I wish I could sleep on my back, but it is just way too uncomfortable now.

When I was preggo with my 17 year old I ate a ton of tuna. Now I'm told you're supposed to avoid it completely.

I wonder if that is what's wrong with him.

i remember when i was pregnant with my 17 year old, tub baths were forbidden during the last month, for fear of infecting the baby.

I remember with my 24 year old that you were supposed to put the baby to sleep on his or her tummy so they would not throw up and breath it in.
With my 17 year old it was put them to bed on their side so the throw up would run out
With my 5 year old it was put them to bed on their back to prevent SIDS
My 5 year old would not stay asleep that way and I put him to bed on his tummy anyway.
