Aw, you can't let a featherbutt boss you around! I know the hanging him by his feet thing sounds cruel, but it won't hurt him. For me it's totally unacceptable to have an animal getting uppity. I *love* my rooster Godzilla, but we went through a phase where he would attack my butt when I bent over to get eggs. That was a very short phase.
Give yourself a big pep talk before you go out to deal with birds, and remember he's just a friendly sandwich
