The farrier here charges $60 per horse for shoes, but the dirt on our land is soft enough for them not to be shod until we get them ready for trails. Wormer is $16 per horse, hay is CHEAP here - alfalfa #2 is only $8 a bale, 50 lbs of rolled oats is $12. I love living in the boonies!

gosh Deb... I miss Cali but not the prices. We're getting large rounds for $60 a piece and that's cheep, usually $75. We think our small squares are expensive here at $5-6 a bale.
We get our wormer from horse.com we have 6 horses and getting the generic Ivamec for around $2 each but then again we don't worm every month only at every season change at best usualy only twice a year, but never had problems. DH never wormed unless he saw a horse dropping wt or scratching their bums a lot, till I came a long. He grew up with the whole "good ol'boy" mentality. So I get the wormers and just say, "Oh honey she won't stand still. Would you hold her while I squirt it in her mouth?" He's pretty good to help

Market is pretty bad but seems to be picking up a bit. still can't get more than $200 for a well trained mule but if it has papers and you can do anything on it and have a kid prove it you'll get $2000 for it. Never understood the paper thing for geldings though, can't produce, can't ride paper.
