I can't find the remote.

Bettacreek- I'm going to hijack my own thread to tell you that I love your avatar. That child is gorgeous! I hope she is yours. That picture makes me happy everytime I see it.
Okay... hijack over.
I still can't find the *&^$^#%! remote. It's not in the sofa. I've taken all the pillows off and felt around inside. I did find a crochet hook though. That's good.
It's not behind the TV, behind the sofa, under the chair, under the sofa, under the dining room table (which has an empty brooder on top of it- how sad), under my bed, under my dresser, under the armoire or in any of the corners of the house. Jake the Ferret had to bypass a 4' piece of quarter ply and then scale a baby gate to get out to rummage about. I'm almost positive that he couldn't get the remote back by that same path. There are only 5 rooms in the entire house. I'm out of hiding places. Grrrrr... I just switched the TV over to cable a few months ago. Now the darn thing won't work without the remote.

This is making me crazy.... it's just me and the animals. It has to be here somewhere.

Back in the olden days we had to change the channel and adjust the volume by hand.

Or by sending the youngest in the room/house to do it.

Luckily, I was the oldest child and hardly ever had to perform this task.

But our TV will not let us adjust the volume with a remote, so we have to send the youngest child that is anywhere near to take care of it
or if they are

we have to take care of it for ourselves!!!!

at my house it is normally down in the couch not under the cushons down in the side or way down in the back or in the chair. Last time I found ours in the bathroom where dh had it in his hand and made a run in there to wet he left it on the dryer, then once I found it in the frig. and once on the counter by the sink. I found it once in my washer got mixed in with some dirty clothes it didn't get washed thank god.

Hmmm... I know I had it last night. I'm pretty sure I put it on the coffee table. It is suspiciously absent. Unfortunately the ferret likes to gnaw the buttons off remotes and the kittens seem on a Smash and Trash tear right now. They've spent all day shoving things off tables and counters. I think they've hidden it. Brats.

If it were here there would be no telling. I once left a pound of hamburger on top the dog house because I remembered that I wanted to check and see if my laundry was dry yet. And that same day I left a box of mac and cheese on the back of the toilet when I went in there to look at something or other. I noticed the hamburger when I looked out the window, never even noticed it was missing. Oldest son found the mac and cheese and still won't let me forget it lol.
Check the bathroom. Did you check the fridge?

It is ALWAYS under my butt!!! I loose mine about 5 times a nite, and when I can stand it no longer I blurt out "WHERE IS THE DARN REMOTE!?!?!?" And EVERY time, my husband says "check under your butt!" and I'll be darned if it isn't there,in the crack of the couch, under my butt!!!! (almost every time!!!)
Oh, by the way- the expression 'in the last place you look' is sooo ridiculous!! OF COURSE it is in the last place you look.....after you find it, you STOP LOOKING!!!!
