I Cant stand the stink and am ready to give up!

I have 25 that are two weeks today and 18 that are 8 days today in my dining room and we use pine shavings and all we smell is pine! I would give that a try and see if it helps as long as you dont mind the smell of pine!! Good luck to you!!!!!!!

When I read the title of this thread, for a second I thought you were talking about politics.

I had my 12 5 week olds in the house in a big watermelon box from walmart and I had pine shavings in there. My husband is a REAL big "NO STINK" guy and he didn't even notice the smell. There wasn't much of a smell and I changed it once a week only. As long as you stir it up every day with a big stick you can get away with changing it less often. I didn't want to put my babies outside when it come time...I was too attached to them.

I have 3 week old in my kitchen now. 25 of them and I have to change the bedding every other day. I have been using pine shavings and they still have a bit of odor. I've had a cold so I haven't smelled much!!

I wonder what my company thinks!!

I use pine shavings and sprinkle lightly with Sweet PDZ. It can be found at feed store and is meant to keep odor and moisture down. I use it in my coop as well and do not have a fly problem at all.

I have been using newpaper and papertowls so far. I had thought of the pine shavings but didnt think it would help with the smell any at all over papers.

Pine shavings really do help. I had 20+ silkies in my room and my room smelled like pine everyday. It also absorbes better the paper towels.
