I can't stop crying - help

Cackle is located in Missouri-therefore I would tell them NOT to ship my chicks until the temps was suitable on their end and yours(and in between).

Call the Hartford PO and see if you can pick them up there .. Explain what happened .. ask for the postmaster .. then call them when they ship .. then call them the next morning ... then that afternoon .. keep it fresh on their minds .. make them WANT to get you off their backs ..

I hate that you have to do that, but sometimes we do.

I love my PO .. they keep and eye out, call at 0530 in the morning .. let me pick up at the dock.

Chin up! But I would wait for milder weather ...

WHY would they EVEN ship to FREEZING New England this time of year?? Ugh.. anything to make a buck, i guess..

I would do what the others said- have Cackle wait a few weeks before they ship again. With all the crazy weather we've been having, and airports being closed and stuff...delays are inevitable- and fatal.

Have you not noticed the weather lately? Planes, trains and major traffic lanes have been shut down, some post offices also have been shut down due to the weather so mail in some places is backed up, i'll never understand why people would take a chance and order this time of the year, depending on their location! Maybe she really is sorry!

I am sorry for your loss. I was scared when I picked up my eggs the other day and they were very cold! Believe it or not the person sending them wrote" Do Not Freeze" on the box! Hopefully they were just very cold and Mother Nature didn't freeze them! We have had very cold temps and spittin snow for days! I hope for a good hatch rate! And I hope you wait a few weeks to get more and they arrive safely! Don't beat yourself up about it! It really was out of your control!

I placed my order online and assumed they would be mailed out in April because that's when all of our local grain stores receive theirs. The website stated "shipping depends on the weather" so I assumed they knew what they were doing.

When 2 weeks went by and I hadn't received a confirmation e-mail from them, I called.

They said. "we are shipping on the 8th"

I said, "April?"

She said "February"

I said "you're kidding, they'll be okay"

She said, "we ship with "heat pads" they'll be fine."

I BELIEVED HER
