I feel so stressed out right now...

First, at about 7:00 pm, my time, today, I found out my goldfish had Dropsy, and for those of you who are fish freaks like me then you'll know that there isn't much you can do for a fish who has this. All of my past goldfish have died from this. I feel so irresponsible for letting this happen. I've been so preoccupied with the chickens that I've been neglecting my aquarium duties. There haven't been any other casualties, but between building the run, keeping A's and B's in school, and extracarricular activities, I FEEL SO STRESSED!!

And then my dad scolds me and tells me to get my act together! LIKE I DON'T KNOW THAT!!!!

This week really sucks..... Not to mention I come walking into the kitchen and he's filling the water because it was empty

AND I'm in charge of giving our cat its antibiotics when I can't even find the darn thing!

Sorry for this.... I just needed to tell someone.....

Sorry you've had such a lousy week. You're always welcome to vent here... we do understand and empathize. I, too, have aquariums and love my fish also. I know how quickly problems can arise if things take your attention away from them too long. Don't beat yourself up over the dropsy issue.

Maybe it would help to put together a list of things you have to take care of and check it each day to make sure you haven't missed anything?

Congrats on the As and Bs!!

I am so sorry. You are having a difficult week. I hope it smooths out for you.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. I hate days like that, but I remember biting the bullet on those days, and know that the next day's gotta be better. Sorry about your fishie. Is it doomed? Lighten up on yourself, this kind of stuff happens to us all, you're just having to experience it and go thru it even if it stinks.

Hope you make the best of it - it should get better for you.

Thank you, everyone. I know I can count on the people of BYC.

Lunachick:

It won't live. Right now it is too far into the stages of dropsy. (fully bloated and all scales protruding) All of my goldfish have died from it(and that was like... 10 of them) so I have plenty of experience with this.

Chirpy:

That list doesn't sound too bad right now.... Although I should've known better. I've had aquariums for about three years now. Also, thank you for congratulating me. But the worst part is.... it's still Monday.... :thun

I *think* I still have fish in my tank (water's a bit cloudy so not sure)

and somewhere under the shredded greens the iguanas have (once again) scattered all over the floor is an actual hardwood floor that needs mopping. After I move the boxes DH still hasn't gone through since we moved, that is.

And I am sure that somewhere in that tall grass in the back yard are some dogs. (I'm assuming they are still there since the levels in the food and water containers are dropping steadily)

I'm fairly certain the cats are all here, if I count the number of dead, dying and very much alive moles that are on my front porch, the walk and my living room rug (in that order!) and divide by the number of cats, it comes out right.

And the heap of dirty laundry in the hamper lets me know that DH is still around!

So don't worry, we all have weeks like that! :aww

Oh and my neighbor from 3 houses down and across the street just brought me my mail! (I was wondering why I hadn't gotten my DirecTv bill, overdue by now, of course)

Oh yeah, and if you want to volunteer to give MY cats their meds (I'll find them for you!) you are welcome to. I got sliced, diced and punctured giving them tapeworm pills today!

So sorry about your fish...and just how the whole week feels like it's self-destructing...I'll bet most of us can relate! I sure can...if there were a poster "child" for overwhelm, I'd be it.

Next week is bound to be better. The funny thing is, when I read your post, I can't help but notice the amazing amount of things you ARE doing!

So don't get too down on yourself; you're trying hard to do the best.
