I regularly see a Black Racer in my yard; I think he's hunting frogs (we have astonishing numbers of tree frogs here). We dubbed him "Speed" (yeah, hokey pun, what can I say?

Slippery Pete. My ring-necked racer was named that. I had a not so good report with them for many years having been hit by a copperhead as a kid and been bitten by a number of others pets and a typical childhood of catching anything I could.
Oddly I wound up living on “Snake Den Rd” post college, and yes it lived up to its name.
I love and respect all critters that don’t kill or endanger my own.
