I've been fighting the urge, but Spring Fever took over and I bought a HOVABATOR 1602N STILL AIR INCUBATOR + automatic egg turner 1611. I've seen a lot of folks on here who have this type of incubator.

Any words of wisdom, anybody????????

Btw, does anyone know if these have built in hygrometers...the description said "themostat" but didn't mention a hygrometer? Will I need to buy one separately? Can I get one at the feed store?

Happy hatching to you!

Congrats!

And yes, I'm pretty sure you'll need a hygrometer. And you'll want a good thermometer to double check the temps.

ETA: Actually, the thermostat on that one isn't a pre-set, so you'll want a couple thermometers (in my experience and a good hygrometer).

Congrats on entering the happy and exciting world of hatching!

Now, what are you going to hatch first?!?!

You can get one at Walmart in the thermometer section. I've bought several over the past few years there.

I am on the list for Welsummers from L&SChickens...have you seen her Welsummers? They are really gorgeous. I don't know what else...I may get some Paul Smith Ameraucanas.

I'd like to find some Barnevelders and blue Andalusians, too. I also love silkies.
