I couldn't find arm extensions ~ decided it was time for glasses

Quote:
I started wearing glasses at the age of nine. I got IntraLasik (the all laser lasik) in fall of 2006. Best thing ever! I wasn't nearly as bad as you were, Debi, but still at 20/450 with an astigmatism in both eyes, I had to get in bed before taking my glasses off and put them on before getting out of bed in the morning. The moment that I realized that it was worth every penny was when I could take a shower and actually read the labels on the bottles!

DH just turned 40 and his distance vision is going (he can see up close though....kinda backwards

). He refuses to go get his eyes checked. He can convince himself his eyesight is fine if a doc isn't able to prove him wrong, I guess. Plus, why wear glasses when he can just as me what the sign say.

Mine was all laser too. 10 minutes later I could sit up a see the clock. NOt to mention all the pretty pink and purple colors I saw as they were doing it!!! It was SOOOO worth every penny. The fact that I could see a clock made it worth it. The doc that did mine was the teaching doctor for the State. He is a pioneer for the surgery. Dr. Christopher Blanton.

I will be 49 in April and I think by then I will need reading glasses.

Right now I can still read okay without reading glasses but if I am tired the words jump around a bit, or fuzz out.

I am ready. The dollar store carries a nice range of styles.

I'm in Bifocals and hearing aids and occasionally a walking aid if I twist my back or lift heavy goats......Welcome to the enhanced age!!!! But great you have insurance.....I think next time trifocals!!!

Right now I'm just spending my time trying to find my focals.....I lay them down everywhere! I have one of those neck chain things but cannot find it either...

COngratulations on maturing....I love every extra day I get.

I had to start wearing glasses when I was about 34. Now I need bifocals at almost 40. I don't mind so much. My younger brother always had to wear glasses or contact lenses. I am hoping the next time I go in for an eye exam, I can get those multi focal contact lenses.

bifocals gave me such dizzy headaches - now its the driving (or outside) glasses, and the reading/computer glasses. I wear neither if I want to see who I am talking to, being in the house.

I depend on the little foil & wire needle threader thingies. It is now impossible for me to thread a needle without one. *sigh*

That's around where I was...the E on the eye chart was just a big dark fuzzy rectangle. Then I got ASA, and for the first time in my life I could see!!! Glancing at the clock when I wake up in the middle of the night and actually being able to read it is like a miracle, after feeling half blind for 42 years. It's been over a year now, and I still love it. I was told I would probably need reading glasses eventually, but I'll be okay with that when it happens... My DH just got himself some reading glasses two months ago...but he's five yrs. older. So I figure I have about five more years...

*edited for lack of sleep, not lack of vision...
