i cracked my egg??

I was candling my duck egg and it slipped and cracked, but it wasnt leaking it was just cracked. So, i went and got nil polish and painted over the crack. Please tell me irf i did the right or wrong thing? or will it still hatch?

I've used nail polish, candle wax, duct tape, plain old clear tape...some time ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It'll hatch, or it wont, at least you've done something to give it a better chance.

How far along was it and how bad is the crack?
