I crossed a cream legbar with a ----- and this is what I got

Pics
It's nice that you are working with hens that have distinctive features, like the Wyandotte's rose comb and the Brahma's feathered legs. Lets you know which chicks came from which hens, so you can sex them accordingly. With the Barred Rock hen, you may not be able to sex by coloring, since the Legbar rooster will contribute a barring gene.

Anyone know what a CCL male and either silver laced wyandotte or bared rock will look like? I had a sneaky hen hatch our 5 babies on me in the bushes! 4 are black with a little white on chest, 2 have yellow legs and rose combs( guessing wyandotte) the other have darker legs and tiny dark combs (guessing bared rock). Will I get anything interesting from these? I have many varieties of hens but these 2 are the only black colored ones.

The Silver Laced chicks should be sexable by color. The Cream Legbar rooster is red/gold base color, and the Silver Laced hen can only pass her silver gene to her male offspring. All the chicks with rose combs are from the Wyandotte. Males will be silver and the females will be golden. All should be barred. For the Barred Rock crosses, all the chicks should be pure for the barring gene. Males will have two copies, females will have only one copy. This will make them sexable once they begin to feather in. Males will have more white and look 'lighter', females will be darker.

Has anyone done a CL roo X BLRW hen cross? I'm curious how the genetics would come into play there. Any pics or info would be great! I wanna breed my new little legbar roo Nova to my wyandottes- I know what the SL crosses will look like, but I gotta see the BLRs!! Thanks in advance!!

All chicks will be barred. If the hen is splash, then all chicks will have a gene for Blue. If the hen is Blue, then only 50% of her chicks will get that gene. The lacing gene is complex, and requires 4 different pattern genes. If a bird is missing even one of those genes, the lacing will be incomplete and have a spangled appearance. This will be the case for all of the chicks. Also, the cream gene is a recessive dilute for gold/red base color. All chicks will get a copy, but not express it.

Ok, thanks, junebuggena! I figured it would be similar to the SL cross, I just wasn't sure. If anyone has pics of this cross, I would LOVE to see them!

ETA: I happen to have one each of the splash laced and blue laced reds, so I'll be experimenting with this cross in the spring and I'll be sure to post pics of what I come up with for all of you to see! Can't wait for my babies to grow up!!

So my sneaky cream legbar hen hatched out 5 babies under a bush. Dad is also a cream legbar. Only one chick is hers. I originally thought they were from either Wyandotte or barred rock but not so sure now. The other 4 could be from silver laced Wyandotte, golden laced Wyandotte, Easter eager (gold), light brahma, salmon favorelle, barred rock, RIR, back sex link, or red Sex linked. One has alot of gold barring, another has a touch. Any ideas on gender and mix? pretty sure I have 3 boys.
